SoR Mini-Con Terms & Conditions

By registering for and attending the Science of Reading Mini-Con (“Event”), you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:

1. Registration & Payments

  • All ticket sales are final. No refunds, transfers, or credits will be issued for any reason, including but not limited to schedule conflicts, travel issues, illness, or personal emergencies.

  • If registering a group, you acknowledge that you have obtained consent from each participant to register on their behalf. You are responsible for ensuring that all group members receive and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Media Release

  • By attending the Event, you understand and agree that you may be photographed, filmed, or recorded.

  • You grant permission for your image, voice, and likeness to be used in photos, videos, livestreams, marketing materials, social media, and promotional content by the Event organizers without compensation.

  • You waive any rights to inspect or approve finished materials.

3. Email Sharing & Communications

  • By registering, you consent to your email address being shared with Event vendors and sponsors for purposes such as providing resources, promotions, or follow-up communications.

  • You also agree to receive updates, announcements, and future marketing emails from the Event organizers.

4. Agenda & Presenter Changes

  • The Event organizer reserves the right to modify the schedule, sessions, speakers, venue layout, or agenda at any time for any reason, including presenter availability, weather, or logistical needs.

  • Any changes will be communicated as promptly as possible.

5. Code of Conduct

To ensure a positive and safe environment for all attendees:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Attendees may be removed from the Event without refund for violating the code of conduct.

  • Weapons, illegal substances, and dangerous items are prohibited.

6. Health & Safety

  • Attendees agree to follow any health, safety, or venue guidelines in place at the time of the Event.

  • By attending, you acknowledge that participation involves personal risk and agree that the Event organizers are not responsible for any injury, illness, or other health-related issues that may occur.

7. Personal Belongings

  • The Event organizers are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.

8. Liability Waiver

By attending, you agree to:

  • Assume all risks associated with participation.

  • Release the Event organizers, presenters, volunteers, sponsors, and the venue from any liability related to injury, loss, damage, or claims arising from your attendance.

9. Accessibility & Accommodations

  • Reasonable accommodations will be provided when requested in advance. However, availability may be limited based on venue capabilities.

10. Weather or Emergency Situations

  • In the event of severe weather, emergencies, or other circumstances beyond the organizer’s control, the Event may be adjusted, rescheduled, or transitioned to a modified format.

  • No refunds will be issued under such circumstances.
